What is Custom Postforming?
Postforming is the process of heating laminate sheet goods and forming the laminate to produce a rolled edge profile with an integrated backsplash. As a custom postform shop, we start with the high pressure laminate of choice and manufacture the tops according to the specifications that the customer chooses. Manufacturing tops from start to finish allows us the opportunity to add features not normally seen with traditional “off the shelf” tops. Items such as tall backsplashes under a raised bar, bypass or pass through transitions, and special depth decks and bars are all available to meet most design needs. Combine these features with today’s specialty laminates and you can create the look and feel that not only achieves the look that you desire, but keeps your project affordable.
Remodels
The process of remodeling a kitchen or bathroom can seem to be an overwhelming experience, but it can be simplified. Replacing counter tops is a simple, affordable choice when considering the additional costs of appliances and fixtures. Common features that we use on remodel projects include taller than standard backsplashes, avoiding the need to repair the walls behind the old backsplashes, and deeper bar and islands. Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer and would like to have us manufacture the tops to your specifications, or you would like to take advantage of our installation program, we can help you minimize the amount of stress involved in your project.
New Construction
When building a new home, timing is always an issue. Not only are there choices of styles, colors, and design, but there are also deadlines to meet in order for the process to go smoothly. We strive to keep our lead times as short as possible to help you keep your project on schedule. Our lead-times are generally 10 – 12 business days from the date we receive your order. Included with our installation is on site verification of all dimensions approximately 5 – 7 business days prior to installing your tops. This not only takes the pressure off of the builder and home owner to supply finished dimensions, but allows them to schedule other tradesmen that need to complete their plumbing, electrical, and appliance installations after the counter tops are installed.
Commercial
Commercial projects often have specialty applications for their counter tops. Desk areas that require no backsplash, extra deep tops for work space and storage, chemical resistant tops, tall faces on vanities to hide plumbing, and matching window sills are just some of the options that are available. A backer sheet to help prevent moisture infiltration will be applied to all window sills and is recommended on all commercial tops.
